Romans 3:12
They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Ecclesiastes 7:20
For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.
It’s amazing how people will sit and listen to a preacher tell them how good they have to be in order to receive salvation. They will even allow the preacher to put them in bondage by putting them back under the law. I must say that most of these preachers are sincere, but they are sincerely wrong.
You can’t scare people by putting them under the law and think they are going to stop sinning and all of a sudden become so righteous. The law was never given to make you righteous:
Galatians 2:16
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Galatians 3:21-22
Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
Romans 3:20
Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
1 Corinthians 15:56
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
And then most these preachers will crucify those of us who believe and teach Gods grace, by giving the age old license to sin excuse. According to the bible, you don’t need a license to sin, we were all made sinners based upon Adams transgression.
Romans 5:12
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
And when you understand Gods grace, you understand Gods Grace provided something for us that we can’t work for or earn; it was simply Gods unmerited favor.
Romans 5:8-9
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
God did this without your works in the flesh:
2 Corinthians 5:19
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
We are saved today by grace through faith. Not of any works of the flesh and the keeping of any law.
Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
And when you understand The grace of God that saves, you will never make the ignorant statement that grace is a license to sin. Because you don’t come to Christ to keep sinning and live selfishly unto yourself, you can do that without Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:14-15
For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
Galatians 5:13
For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
We will never be completely sinless while in this flesh, (which is why we are waiting on the redemption of our bodies Philippians 3:20-21), but we “should” sin less often.
Grace and peace!
