Romans 4:5, “But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.”
Many are still trying to work their way to Heaven, trying to perform some type of work that would be accepted by a Holy God. The bible says in Isaiah 64:6 that all our righteousness are as filthy rags. We can’t please a Holy God with an unholy gift! Our righteousness alone doesn’t even come close to the perfection required by God. So God in His love toward us, sent His only begotten Son that he would offer up the perfect gift, the perfect payment that would reconcile man back to God in righteousness. It is by the blood of Jesus Christ alone that sins are forgiven and that souls will be saved from eternal damnation. There is no other perfect work that can be performed other than calvary. Romans 5:8-9, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” Only believing in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ alone for your justification will save you, not confessions to a priest, not walking an aisle and saying the prayer of repentance, not paying tithes, but by faith in Christ alone without works.
